The Tucson City Court started its innovative approach to adjudicating domestic violence cases in 2013 through a specialized Tucson domestic violence court.  Specialized courts handle a single type of offense, which is how they differ from traditional courts. Tucson Domestic violence court focuses only on domestic violence cases as a way to process cases more efficiently, deliver consistent rulings, focus on victim services, offender rehabilitation and the deterrence of repeat offenders.
